The Tarka trail is great but the on-road section is potentially lethal so a new route is essential for everyone's safety

I have ridden the trail and the section where the route is diverted onto the A386 is terrifying. It makes me think twice about riding it again.

Cycled the A386 between Meeth & Hatherleigh twice this week - quite frightening! Two people met at the end of the trail where it meets the A386 simply turned around and went back therefore spending no money in either Meeth or Hatherleigh! There absolutely should be an off road alternative for the benefit & safety of all!

Old railways make brilliant cycle routes; it seams still to leave such an obvious gap.
The more the merrier.

Absolutely essential from a safety point of view and would also bring economic benefits to Hatherleigh.

An obvious extension to the abrupt ending of the tarka trail which would avoid a dangerous road in and out of Hatherleigh to MadeWell

This should have been done years ago - lets get this sorted and bring more people down the Tarka trail to Hatherleigh and beyond.

Busy local Devon roads full of cars and lorries trying to negotiate passing cyclists is a disaster waiting to happen. Extending this existing cycle route is essential - I am all in favour of supporting this petition.

I live on the Tarka Trail and would welcome any increase in the number of places I can get to without going on a road.
