That's the goal, Reverend. This effort is to have ALL of Durham's streets be Complete Streets. We'll be hosting a kick-off meeting soon (date and time still TBD). If you leave us a comment at http://www.durhamcompletestreets.com, we will let you know when that is. We'd like your help.

I hope that "Complete Streets" will extend to Old East Durham where many residents travel by foot or bike due to lack of resources and that this effort will extend to more than just Durham's privileged residents.

I would love to be able to cross Roxboro at Club Blvd. without feeling like I need to run for my life. Durham could be and needs to be much more walkable and bikeable.

This is important for me and my family in Durham. No more white bikes by the side of the road on Hillandale!

As our city grows, we need to make streets that are safer for cyclists and pedestrians -- smart motorists will realize incentivizing alternative modes of transportation also reduces traffic congestion, so everyone wins!

I happen to live in a Forest Oaks townhouse on Morreene Rd., & would love for the side-walk heading towards Duke Campus to be built. Morreene Rd. is definitely getting busier & busier.

Oof, that's not good, Chip! But yes, this approach is working very well in other cities, including Charlotte, which is making up ground on decades of poor street design.

Durham streets are much better than other places I've lived. Things could be better though, and this seems to be a comprehensive approach to make it happen.
