I'm not a sociology student but I've seen the amount of students that were so disappointed, angry and sad at the fact that they didn't do as good in their exam. I've seen tears too. Even the teacher was complaining.

My daughter has worked so very hard for these exams,adding in work that hasn't been covered is completely unfair!

How could you test them on something they haven't been tought. This should be taken into consideration

If terms and concepts not taught at this level was used then the students should have the grade boundaries lowered.

I strongly urge you to lower the grade boundaries for the GCSE Sociology paper 2015. The questions were ambiguous and unfair. they included questions that were more in keeping with teacher education then a GCSE sociology exam i.e. how would Y11's know about SEN teaching strategies? the Cereal Packet family Question was also unfair as this is not an actual concept - most teachers try to use real concepts such as the nuclear family rather than baby language. And yet the complete polar opposite can be said of unit two where students were expected to know the concept Anomie which is a Y13 concept. I would never consider teaching my students this concept at GCSE as it is conceptually complex and teaching it at this level would distort its meaning. I wonder what the credentials are of the AQA examiners? I will be changing exam boards without doubt as I no longer see this exam as credible or suitable for GCSE Sociology students. I should add that the AS paper was conceptually easier than the GCSE paper.
