I'm not in this dude's class but I watched a friend of mine actually start to dematerialize and deteriorate while they were taking this class. It's like seeing Guts be cursed by the brand of sacrifice, no joke. After taking this class my friend was never the same, his once joyful and kind demeanor was long gone after this class. All that's left now is a hollow shell. I give me back my friend.

The professor was very unprofessional every time I answered a question. I feel like I am stupid and dumb, and I don't reach his perfectionism.

Took him during my time at CPP and Dr. Kim's approach on teaching and grading was by far the worst I've ever experienced. It amazes me that he's still a professor after all the complaints students have brought up.

Vague guidelines, harsh grading. Surface level lectures but expects deep understanding of the material. Very confrontational about questions, and very condescending attitude when students ask for help.

Threatening students to admit to cheating or flunking them is not professional nor ethical. Admitting falsely to cheating will lead to parole, suspension, or even expulsion. Nothing more than a bully!

I don't know that I support all the attempted solution methods (aka demands), but I Certainly believe action should be taken regarding Dr. Kim as a teacher and as an Advisor!

He is a poor teacher.

He explained he gives partial credit when he clearly gave me a 0/100 on a midterm even though I had the approach towards the problems.

Took Dr. Kim for ME 215. Was not interested in helping my students, issued more than difficult assignments and exams, and would not answer student questions. Has no care for his students.

ME 325 is the most important and difficult course for future design engineers and is being wasted by a professor who does not want to be a teacher. Besides the poor usage of power points and a computer program that does little to foster engineering design intuition, Dr. Kim shows no respect for his students. One day, I asked a question of him in his ME 340 class, also a very difficult subject matter. I asked "How can you tell it's a first order system or a second order system?" A simple question with a simple answer yet a complicated principle that is one of the core points of the class' curriculum. He responded "Use your eyes."

Worst professor at CPP. I learned more from hands-on experiences in a machine shop, than from his entire machine design class.

Recent graduated and his class was worthless. After talking with other companies workers I now know how little of machine design do I know. Cal Poly Pomona was am amazing school all together he shouldn't be holding it back the way he does.

I would spend hours on the homework and He would give me 4/10 because i did not use MDT5. MDT5 is a program that Dr.Kim wrote and he is always updating it and it sucks. The hand calculation should be worth more than his crappy MDT5.

What i took from this class was that there are infinite many solutions where we are infinitely wrong... Only lesson learned here was how to appease the master by optimizing designs with unfeasible numbers
