Less than 10% of the affected people (staff, students, & parents) who submitted survey responses wanted SRO's removed. Listen to them!! NOT 11 people on a PSD School Board committee.

Please keep the SRO's in the schools! They are good for everyone! They build relationships with students and staff and work hard to keep everyone safe!

As a former employee at Preston, I saw the great relationships formed between SROs and students. The SRO did a lot of good and his presence made the school feel like a safer place

SRO’s are and integral part or our schools and provide a number of important services, including acting as a trusted person for students. My son is a person of color and feels more comfortable in school having SRO’s around to help when they need. Getting rid of SROs will take away this resource and worsen the environment in our schools.

Question to ponder: Does the elimination of an SRO fix the issue of any threat to a school. That answer is no

We must have SRO’s in school! I can’t even believe psd would consider dropping them. We live in Colorado. Have you forgotten Columbine? This is so wrong. They are a very important part of the school community. Every kid I know wants them there!

Please keep our children safe with the current SRO status for ALL STUDENTS AND STAFF! It is better than locks on doors when they are in the building. They are not a threat to any of our students or staff. Just ask the schools, like Columbine, the Stem school in south Denver just a few years ago. Please keep them.

I’m pro SRO. No reason for them to not be there. Lots of reasons for them to be there.

I grew up in the PSD system and think the SRO played an integral part in our school community. In my opinion it would be a huge mistake to remove this crucial element from the school system.

If a student isn’t “comfortable” with an SRO on the campus, then you do whatever is necessary to GET those students comfortable with it. The answer is NOT to remove the SROs and put all students at serious risk, all because you have a few students who have been taught to fear and/or disrespect law enforcement. What is wrong with people that they can’t understand this? This “recommendation” is unacceptable and dangerous. I would disband this “committee” and start again with a group of people who are truly interested in protecting the students and staff in our district. And where are the teachers?? Where are the administrators?! Is there even ONE of them who is ok with this?? If my child had a teacher who was actually in support of removing SROs I would pull my kid out of that class and call for their termination. We cannot have people with such utter lack of judgment and concern for our children’s safety teaching our students. I want to see parents, administrators AND teachers—by the hundreds—stepping up and being vocal about this. Immediately. This is NOT OK.

This is a much needed program. We will NOT support a district that wont support having SRO's IN the schools. Nearby is not good enough.

If there's a concern about racial profiling, then the SROs need to be trained better. But getting rid of them is not the way to solve this problem. Students and staff need to feel safe and the SROs have an important role to play. Please vote to retain them and keep working to address whatever profiling may be going on.

The thought of not having SRO’s in schools is patently absurd.

I will pull my child from psd if my child doesn’t have a chance at protection from an armed officer in the event one is ever warranted.

Stop the madness! Who makes decisions on behalf of the parents and students? The Board, not the completely biased and Anti-law enforcement BIPOC parroting committee. Represent those who elected you and do what's best for the kids-keep SRO's in schools- or you will be replaced!
