Please continue our SRO program in PSD. As a parent and retired educator I KNOW this program has saved lives.

What possible legitimate reason could one come up with for eliminating this program, in this day and age? Are we stupid? As what all decisions should be based on, look at the data and the proof that the SRO program is improving lives in so many ways.

Please don’t remove the officers from the schools. Do you remember the DARE officers? Besides being there as a deterrent, those officers formed healthy bonds with students showing them that police are positive parts of our community and wonderful role models. I still remember Officer Lask, my DARE officer from the 6th grade. Our children need these officers’ support now more than ever- to protect them but also to be another positive force in our children’s lives when bullying and the threat of gun violence is worse than ever.

As long as we have lockdown drills, we definitely need SROs.

This is ridiculous that it’s even being considered given the community being clear about where they stand.

SROs are so important to the safety of our schools for both our children and the staff. Please do not open up our schools to potential unneeded violence!

This is a perfect time in a young person's life to have positive relationships with police officers, and SRO's are a great way to make that happen.

SRO’s should be in the schools! It teaches children they are friendly versus just an enforcement entity. Who better to be involved in a situation with students needing police intervention than an officer who personally knows the child and their specific situation. I can’t even believe removing SRO’s is even up for discussion!

SROs are the protection any parent would want for their child. I honestly do not understand how any sane person could argue otherwise.

Could not support this more! When my daughter was in 7th grade, her name ended up on a list of “People I want to kill.” Fortunately, it was found in time and nothing came of it, but I felt some comfort in that her school had an officer on site. Some peace of mind for a worried mother.

Just the presence of an SRO will deter students or make them hesitate when plotting to do ill in a school. The same we all slow down when we see a police car... Pulling SRO's would be like removing speed limits in school zones. It will only increase the likelihood of an incident. Also, what problem is the removal of SRO's solving?

Moving SRO's out of the schools is inviting terrible tragedy. Evil does not go away because we wish it to.

You only embolden people with bad intentions with dumb decisions like removing SRO's from the schools. Does anyone care about the safety of our kids anymore!
