I sign this proudly. No community needs a gun shop across the street from school grounds. No community looking to revitalize should have a gun shop as an anchor business. That said, if we really want to stop this, the onus is on the community to find an alternative more suitable to promoting a vibrant future in Nauck. Signing this petition is just the first step in expressing dissatisfaction. It is critical that next there be viable options presented for other businesses to lease the space.

A gun shop is not needed, not welcome, and not in line with the priorities of our community. The residents of 22204 would prefer to see a business that can thrive and provide benefits to those of us who live here. I'm fine with marginalizing businesses that directly contribute to deadly violence.

Guns don't belong in my home, near my house or around my family and friends. The promotion of guns in an already safe environment is the promotion of violence and danger to that same environment. Guns aren't what Arlington needs.

I am glad to see so many comments recognizing the absurdity of a gun shop in a residential neighborhood near a school. A tea shop, healthy food cafe, hardware store, or any number of community oriented businesses would be most welcome.

I ride my bike on the nearby bike trail and often stop and eat in Shirlington. I would strongly oppose the location of a gun shop in this neighborhood.
