Guns are more than "instruments of death". Guns save lives. I could protect myself and my son from a murderer. There is a strong culture of hunting here in Virginia. Guns I buy at this store could help me feed my son.

I don't claim to speak for every person in my ZIP code, but I would love to be able to patronize a business so close to my home. I would love a gun shop to open so close.

I live near the pawn shop on Lee and Kirkwood. Never had a single problem from them. But the mattress warehouse puts out 3-8 illegal "Sale" signs EVERY weekend, and the manager stands outside smoking cigarettes. He told me his boss said to ignore the zoning regs allowing only 1 sandwhich sign. His business has a much worse visual impact on our neighborhood than the pawn shop. It also doenst "enliven" the street. Dunkin Donuts, which was allowed in despite being underparked, brings alot of litter and huge number of cars making U-turns and even cars which blocks driveways. IN the US you could argue obesity kills more people than guns. You will have a tough time keeping a business out just bc you don't like it. You have to find a code or zoning reg.

The issue here, is not that the residents do not respect or appreciate new businesses locating to this community, it is that it is just emerging from a perception that it is a negative place to live and raise childreb because of crime, although all statistics prove this wrong. Because guns are associated with crime, right or wrong, is the reason we don't feel that its image would be beneficial to Nauck/ This is not a frivolous petiton, it intended to lt the potential owner know the sentiments of his surrounding environment.

I'm not interested in my community becoming a source of easy weapons. Gun shops in Virginia are a means to arm criminals up and down the 95 corridor. Keep Arlington out of your Silk Road of murder. If gun owners are willing to risk the welfare of their community solely so they can have easy access to guns to admire and stroke and cuddle with and strut around a Starbucks with during National Guns Are Really Cool Day, pretending on the outside that they're necessary to protect they're families, they can go to their Confederate gun shows. Keep it out of my community.

I do not believe that people in Rosslyn would like to see their pawn shop turn into a gun shop. Correct me if I'm wrong. It's a good 10-15 minute drive from here, and therefore I am not convinced that it is close to Nauck. If you can tell me that after Sandy Hook, Columbine, Virginia Tech, and recent shootings in Maryland that we need guns sold in Nauck where our children learn to read and play, I think you should wake up and realize what type of world this is.
