This is a terrible idea! A gun shop does not belong anywhere near Drew!

I absolutely see no reason to have a gun store in our community. This type of business will detract from the community's ability to attract more desirable businesses such as restaurants

Nauck Community has worked and strived on having a community foundation. Having a gun shop in close proximity to a school and community center is not sending the right message!

Please consider businesses that are relevant to a greater portion of the Shirlington-Nauck residential community.

How about a coffee shop instead?

This is an outrageous idea! I hope Arlington County would not even consider a gun shop across from a school.

My daughter goes to Drew. I don't want a gun store anywhere near her.

As a long time resident of the Nauck Community I strongly disagree to anything that could promote violence in the neighborhood!

Definitely not a place to promote guns, even if it were water-guns...this community has come along way to be free from a very inhibited violent and crime ridden neighborhood to now a very sustainable unified and diverse community....Why turn back the clock with this trap of community demolition?

I'm a parent of a Drew Student. The Nauck Community does not need this at all.

Nauck is in the process of overcoming past negative perceptions to one where it is becoming a desirous diverse community where new residents to Arlington are desirous to live. The community welcomes all businesses that are viewed as beneficial to the image the residents envision, but a gun shop in its midst does not fit that image.

Gun shops should not be allowed within any proximity to a school. Newtown, Columbine, etc.... Completely unacceptable.

I live in Douglas Park - the neighborhood next to Nauck. Multiple neighborhoods potentially will be negatively affected by the presence of a gun shop in Nauck.

I'm a resident, homeowner, taxpayer, business owner, churchgoer, philanthropist, and community member in South Arlington. My business has been located here in Arlington since its founding in 2005. I'm also a gun owner. And a hunter. And a concealed carry permit holder. All here in the neighborhood. The last time I checked guns were legal here in Arlington, and in Virginia. And, indeed, in the entire country. Until and unless we get past the indefensible, knee-jerk, non-fact-based assertions of "gun shops = black genocide" and "guns will kill children"... we'll never improve our collective lot. This is a shameful, hysterical petition. It's sad to see it gain such unthinking support from otherwise intelligent South Arlingtonians.

No to gun shop across from Drew Model School.

This history of this community and it's current struggles are not well-served by a gun business.

I live in Alcova Heights and frequently shop, dine, bike etc in Shirliington. I think it is entirely unnecessary and actually detrimental to our community to locate a gun shop here.
