Let the community in! No more sweetheart deals...build for the community and not 501(C)3 groups to solicit customers with tax paid buildings.

I reside in Atlanta Ga but I am originally from Lexington Ky and travel back often. Over the years I have seen the decline in the community as well as an increase in crime and violence. I believe that this is a direct correlation to the lack of support and involvement from the city for our community centers which are a staple in the city.

I grew up in Lexington and had access to Community Centers. I was fortunate to have a strong, involved family unit but many of my friends did not. These centers provided safe play and programs that made positive differences in many of their lives.

This is the first that I've heard of this, seems as though that the powers to be are talking out of both sides of mouths. Wanting suggestions as to how to change the mindsets of our youth and overall community

Our young black children are in need of the same safe places that were provided to us when we were children. These community centers were a safe haven for alot of friends and family growing up. I really hope that you consider reopening .
