more affordable house okay idea, but not four stories plus building at that location -- two to three, maybe

This proposal is absurd. There is other properties that would be great and would not encroach on recreation.

Absolutely not! More housing, yes. Not this way. There are an uncountable number of plans for building in tight spaces, around parks or open spaces, landmarks, etc. No building needs to be that height to be effective.

We need to preserve the butte. No one wants to see a 4 story building right up next to it. The butte is a landmark that you can see from all angles throughout the area. If this proceeds it will look like there's a big box at the base. Enough is enough.

I grew up here in bend. I don't want to see any apartments. Low income or not. Next to the butte. Find a better use for the land

This whole process stinks; public notification was "minimized", if not hidden, and the lack of a well-publicized comment period now brings us to this. What's next, legal action? I'm all for it!

No. Do not build these apartments. We do not want or need them at this location. The city is ruining the town by all these high rise buildings. No one wants this by the Butte or anywhere in Bend.

As we know all too well, once the ball is rolling there is no way to restore the "natural" order. There is plenty more space in Central Oregon, believe it or not, leave Pilot Butte some breathing room.

Building affordable housing is great but any and all developers need to abide by the city limitations on building codes. It was wrong of the city to break their own rules and try & sneak things past the community. Building huge structures next to a state park is the not the way to go about using precious land.
