Re-open public input for the proposed apartments at 2001 NE Linnea, Bend, OR

This is a very poor idea-- there are many areas in and around Bend that could handle a properly planned development such as this--Pilot Butte is DEFINITELY not one of them! Cannot imagine who would want to spoil one of the main natural attractions of the city with something like this, not to mention the chaos from traffic, noise overcrowding, etc. Cannot imagine anyone who lives in Bend, or has enjoyed visiting the city, and of course the park, wanting something like this--must be developers from elsewhere just looking to make money. Take this back to the "drawing board" and look for some place else to put this sort of housing-it doesn't belong where currently planned.

We need more apartments that's for sure but they can be better planned. Bend used to have a 2 story limit so that everyone can enjoy our beautiful community. Four stories is a terrible idea especially obstructing such an important area in our community.

from what I understand these will be primarily one bedroom/studio apts to attract all the new bike riding OSU students. It will be interesting to see how many of these new students can afford a studio apt at 1k a month...

Leave it the way it is. Don't ruin it.

Another example of the builders running Bend, and not the planners.

It just doesn't make any sense for new apartment buildings to be built in this area.

Pilot Butte cannot support this type of human encroachment unless there is funding for FULL TIME ON SITE park rangers. This development is a travesty for our beloved butte.

Please STOP development next to the butte.

There is parking inside the complex but, if it's anything like what happens across the street, overflow ends up on the street and that's already taken. We've heard that over 15,000 cars per month use the parking area at Pilot Butte. That seems like a lot of traffic on little Linnea. Guess where the only entrance and exit from the new apartments will be. On Linnea of course. From what I've heard, Bend Parks and Rec won't want to touch this with a four story stick. They receive substantial money from each unit built. They have a city park inside the state park so they should be concerned. But city parks are better equipped to handle population growth.

It wasn't in the paper. The only way the public could have known was to have read one of two poorly placed signs that many believe went up after the input process ended.

I receive the local paper daily and do not even remember reading about this.

I am one of many, many people who use and enjoy Pilot Butte. It needs to be preserved with as much wildness and openness as possible within our city limits and the needs of the community. Ringing it with buildings is incomprehensible to me. Most communities would give their right arm to have a Pilot Butte and do as much as possible to preserve its character and appeal. .

Traffic in the area because of the apartment needs to be addressed. Have the developer wider the streets as a requirement. On street parking is a big problem now it will be worse with these apartments.

I have never heard about any public input! It feels like it is being rammed down our throat like the stupid placement of the four year college on the west side of town! Could it be the same city council that created the nightmare on Reed Market Road! Beautiful road, but the expense of what happened and is still happening over the years of disruption does not make up for costs in time and hassle! It is also a main thourough fair for east west! Two lanes is stupid planning! Throw the bums out in the next election!!!!

The neighborhood around Pilot Butte is already blighted with an apartment complex and high-density townhomes. This additional development will make the situation worse - please stand up to the money, say no to the developers. Stop ruining Bend.

Pretty sure there wasn't much public notification on this issue. Should readdress the entire process and application

Get the Bend Park & Recreation District involved. We pay them a lot of taxes and SDCs. They should at least defend this neighborhood park from senseless development. I haven't heard yet --- where do all these apartment dwellers park?

Don't build high occupancy apartments so close to Pilot Butte!
