Common Sense Solution for Recurring Presidential TFRs

Occasional disruption of business is acceptable and necessary for Presidential security, but regular and continuous disruption is NOT in the interests of the either the business or the government. And certainly not when the disruption is to provide 'relaxation/vacation. There exists a better way, such as the 'MD-3', and it should be utilized.

Please let General Aviation continue to FLY. File a flight plan (VFR/IFR) and work with ATC but let us fly!

There has never been a credible threat to the president, sporting events, Disney since these have been started. It is unreasonable to continue this TFRs that have no benefit. The mere removal of them would save money in accidental penetrations by aviators and the time it would take to investigate them. To my knowledge there has not been one that was found to actually be trying to cause damage. These TFR restrictions were created in haste as a response to NY attack and targeted the wrong people. It it time to remove them and not just pass constantly without viable threats. The terrorists that caused this in the first place continue to win every time we put one out.

Let’s be fair to all airports affected by TFRs

A 30 mile circle is ridiculous. Before 9/11 i believe there was only a 3 mile circle around Presidents.

I support your petition because we suffer from this same issue at Miami Executive Airport KTMB and we too need a solution on this matter.

VIP TFR’s provide no real safety benefit and are damaging to our economy. VIP TFR’s everywhere should be eliminated.

I was a Flight Instructor at Solberg airport, if I were instructing there now, I would have been essentially unable to retain employment due to TFR restrictions. Additionally, General Aviation was not a threat before, on, or after 9/11 yet we are the ones who are punished.

I agree because when President Obama was in Chicago we had to put up with it also at DuPage Apt.

I support legislation extending the ‘Maryland-Three’ rules to airports under a recurring Presidential TFR.

This type of plan can pay dividends in keeping these selected three airports functional throughout the Trump presidency, and it can be applied to future airports with the same issues. Please move this process forward and make it applicable to future applications as well.

I fly in the DC FRZ and this proposal should provide flexibility for affected airports.

I support this idea. I think it is doable. Perhaps an app with a 2-factor identification using a code known only to the vetted pilot and a response carrying an ad-hoc generate squawk code could add to the security of this operation and even expedited departures.

I was with the FAA and involved in the DC area pilot verification plan and it worked well. Do the same for the NJ and FL airports and stop wasting the operators time and money. Get the job done and quickly!! ATP, CFI, CFII, MEI and retired FAA supervisor and examiner.

This is long over due. They are not getting any hits to justify the economic interruptions.

I'm in favor of allowing screened pilots to fly during a VIP TFR.

The presidential TFR's are too restrictive and extremely detrimental to local businesses. There are reasonable and safe solutions - as per this petition.

The VIP TFRs are hurting businesses and not helping security.

It is unfair that these aviators and businesses should suffer due to a presidential TFR. Make them whole.
