Common Sense Solution for Recurring Presidential TFRs

I feel these changes are long overdue!

About time this matter is addressed

The FAA should get this review done and approve this vital measure. I lived in the Maryland area for 5 years and kept a plane inside of the SFRA. It was a relative simple procedure to operate in the SFRA.

I’m in favor of this petition as it has gotten impossible to plan GA flights on the East coast of Florida. Alternatively it would be nice to see the president golfing less and focusing on the issues at hand.

Its more than time to reduce these excessive restrictions that really accomplish next to nothing. I lived with the foolishness of the DC SFRA from inception to 2016 when I moved from the area, SFRA being one of the reasons. Its purely security theatre, government overreach, and a waste of taxpayer funds. Its time for a little common sense, which is neither common or with sense it would seem

End the security theater. A suburban can do more harm than an airplane weighing 1/3 its weight. Though they don’t shut down 30 square miles of streets or even one square mile of streets around the president.

This fix should be done without a lot of bearucratic red tape.

We also have a small airport which flies gliders mainly. and are often just inside or just on the edge of outer ring. A glider can have 0 impact. this is not good for GA at all. GA is where most pilots come from. The TFR is absurd for most of aviation and should be looked at from the point of view of people who are trying to make a living and who are impacted. We support the President 100%, but would appreciate some common sense when shutting us down.

Work with GA to help with TFRs effects

This is absolutely an issue that needs to be addressed. It could possibly affect any GA pilot in America in the future. I believe it is certainly possible to find a solution. Time for the government to act.

I think it’s time we move away from the massive security apparatus created after 9/11 and come up with some intelligent solutions that maintain security while allowing use of airspace. The easy answer always seems to be “close/restrict”

It is the height of cynicism for a president to impair the revenue stream of hard-working individuals in order to play golf and while blathering about the importance of entrepreneuership.

Living in the Chicago area, we went through this during the Obama term in that he visited Chicago frequently.

Please keep general aviation alive and well

Mr. Trump and leaders of the DOT, DOD, USSS, et al., please consider revising the current TFR protocols in this case. Aviators represent a special population of Americans; safe, mindful, and generally law-abiding. We would welcome the opportunity to find a workable solution that keeps jobs and money in the local communities served by the affected airport(s).

This program needs to be expanded to include all GA airports that are currently affected and may, in the future, be affected by Presidential vacations.

Please compare TFRs of LAX and airports impacted during OBAMA in charge.

I grew up around the Somerset Airport, and witnessed first hand the hard work this small area business does to provide essential services to the general aviation community in central New Jersey. Somerset Air Service is a grass roots family business, and having perpetual TFR activity hinders the ability of the business to thrive and serve the community. Mr. Parker’s initiative is well worth the consideration it sets forth.

Punishing GA aircraft for the events of 9/11 by using measures that would have had absolutely no effect on the terrorists is a tragic knee jerk reaction that does nothing for the security of our country but imposes arbitrary rules and costs on law abiding American citizens. Please eliminate the presidential TFR and reconsider the use of many other unnecessary TFR's
