God save Canadian kids from being able to read a book that actually reflects the way they speak, think and hurt. Not all of us were able to relate to Anne of Green sexphobic Gables. Here's to a long successful career for Raziel Reid - thank you!

Anyone who thinks the subject matter isn't appropriate for today's teens either does not know one or has their heads buried in the sand as to what their children are consuming everyday in the media and in the schoolyard.

I can't wait to read this. I'm writing an essay on the article that talks about the backlash this book is getting. I can't believe people are so close minded and I only wish I had a book like this come out when I was a teen. I probably would have been able to accept the fact that I am a lesbian much sooner in my life. I'm so proud of this young man for writing the truth!

Anyone who is shocked by the language and actions of some teens in this story is obviously out of touch with the reality of young people today. This novel provides needed insights to the challenges faced by LGBT young people. Unfortunately, the response by some readers is to attempt to bully the Governor General's Awards and Raziel Reid. A pity they didn't understand the message of the novel.
