The transport policy has officially changed and anyone under eighteen will now qualify for child fares. Seeing this injustice corrected means so much to me because I know how much pressure this puts on families and students. We finally managed to get the recognition we deserve.

I have been reading through the stories you are leaving in the comments and it is clear that far too many students are struggling to afford basic transport costs. We are currently preparing our formal presentation for the local councillors to show them that this is a matter of basic consistency in our laws.

Seeing this grow so quickly reminds me that I am not the only one tired of being treated like an adult when it comes to costs but a child everywhere else. This momentum proves that our demand for fair treatment on public transport is finally being taken seriously.

Should be 18 across the board no questions asked.
The cost of transport is a total joke honestly. We should be supported in getting to school instead of being ripped off every day.
Living in rural cork and still in 6th year the bus fare is a nightmare. It makes no sense that students are charged like adults when we dont have jobs.
Fair point. Cant vote or drink but expected to pay full price for everything. Fix this.
About time. Prices are way too high for school kids.

My son is 17 and still in school. Why is he paying full adult fare to get to class? This needs to change ASAP.
