Cork County Comhairle na nÓg (youth council) are putting together a petition to bring the age of a child fare on all public transport to 18. In the UN Convention on the Rights of a Child, Childcare Act of 1991, Children's Act of 2001, any person under the age of eighteen is defined as a child, and we are treated accordingly (Under 18s are not permitted to drink and do not have the right to vote, along with many other things) therefore no child under the age of eighteen should have to pay an adult's fare. Comhairle members from schools and communities are asking you to sign our petition. We really need to make an impact when we go to councillors and TD's so the more signatures we have the better. Thank you so much for all your help. Please note that you DO NOT have to make a donation to "ipetitions" to make your signature count.
