This petition is intended to let Comcast know we will not put up with their ripping off of artists. The music and nuance of the newly televised Comcast commercial is a direct rip-off of artist Kimya Dawson, known for her original style of music as heard in the film Juno. The song used in the ad has been deemed to be a conglomeration of two of Kimya Dawson's songs, "Tree Hugger" and "Blue Like Nevermind." Comcast: Stop using other people's ideas to promote your product and pay Kimya Dawson for her original works.

I was just listening to the ad again and it is honestly so blatant that it makes my head spin. I have been spending my nights digging through copyright forums because corporations just think they can snatch a vibe without giving any credit at all. Everyone keep tagging them because they are definitely seeing the notifications even if they are pretending otherwise.

I really cannot believe how many people actually care about this theft because it honestly felt like I was shouting into a void when this first started. It is wild seeing this momentum grow so fast since it proves that people are finally noticing how big corporations just bulldoze over original creators without a second thought. I need to figure out the right person at Comcast to actually read this now that we have this much attention behind us.

KIMYA IS A LEGEND. Comcast has enough money to hire their own composers they dont need to copy a Juno song

never using comcast again after this. stealing from indie artists is pathetic.
