I support development and am more than happy for regeneration. As its vital to an areas growth. But these developments have to be carefully thought out. Otherwise a once sought after location quickly becomes a black mark.

Infrastructure needed alongside new houses. You need to be able to accommodate the traffic, think about the impact on both schools and the GP servicez. More thought needed

We bought a house in the new development at the top of bullethorpe lane 18 months ago and now I'm worried sick that our house value will drastically reduce if the traveller site goes ahead. We've worked hard for years to be able to afford our first house in a nice area and this is like a slap in the face. To add insult the council want to fund this with MY hard earned tax money - which travellers don't pay. I'm in no way being racist but the perception from 99% of the population is that travellers bring crime to the area as well as anti social behaviour etc. It's THAT perception that will reduce house prices and bring down the area, whether the travellers live up to that perception or not! It takes me 15 minutes to get out of my estate in rush hour, hundreds of extra houses will be a joke. Colton doesn't have the infrastructure to handle this. We will FIGHT and we WILL stop this from happening!

This is a disgrace to not consult local residents. I live in Colton and will contact the council myself!

i say no to traveller site at Colton bullerthorpe lane. I lived in castleford by the xscape and often had problems with travellers camping near our house leaving mess, stealing from gardens and causing trouble. Also in Garforth the left so much mess on glebelands, destroyed changing rooms at squash club. Please look for other locations out of this area!

There are better places to build. Not on a hill and in a valley. Colton can't cope.

The traffic around the sainsburys and Colton mill complex is already atrocious. The 20 mile speed limit through Colton village is barely adhered to and there has been a death due to this. Crossing the road is already a nightmare particularly with a pram.

This is not acceptable with the current roads, schools & amenities

I totally oppose the plans to build a travellers site in Colton. It would destroy the environment and damage local wildlife

This will have a detrimental ecological consequence on the environment. Already Colton is too congested and we should be trying to think of our environment and building on green belts will destroy the already struggling wildlife and ecosystem. Colton should not be downgraded anymore, already there have been buildings on green belt areas of Colton and for any further plans is an utter disgrace.

Lovely fields should be kept as they r for people to enjoy

This would have a huge detrimental impact on the village of Colton and surrounding areas. It would completely change the fabric and character of this area for the worse. Transport is already poor, the school cannot cope with additional houses, the medical services are stretched. The proposed travellers site on Temple Newsam land is totally unbelievable and ill through through. This must not happen.

I support the objections to these plans which would cause significant extra traffic; destroy a wildlife area and green belt and be an environmental disaster.

This cannot be allowed to happen, Colton is a beautiful village which does not need any more housing. The roads are busy enough and we already have problems with traffic and motorbikes going well over the speed limits here.

We don't need this camp. People have just bought new houses in the area and this will devalue them and put these families in negative equity Such a shame for these young families
