This is a special landscape that has a unique view that all locals enjoy, young and old. There is dense mature tree planting , significant wildlife . The 'Forest of Leeds ' scheme in 2007 I believe paid to plant thousands of trees off Colton Road East - these will be removed in the proposal. Cash generator for the council. Nearly all housing growth is in East Leeds, virtually nothing to the north & west! Traffic already horrendous by the council's own admission. I could go on..........

The carving up of this part of Leeds has gone too far. The infrastructure cannot cope for a start, not even mentioning being so close to an ancient monument

A Gypsy site is going to have a hugely negative impact on the local community and area, also right on the edge of one of Leeds' most treasured parks!

I am very much against the councils proposal for a traveller site and new houses for Colton. The village is already over populated and I worry there will not be a place for my little boy at the primary school. The local amenities like the doctors will not be able to cope with the increase in numbers. We moved to Colton as we wanted to live near fields and not feel cut off from a larger city. If these plans are approved I will be devastated.

I do not support the housing development or traveller site.

We need to protect what green land we have left.

I felt sick when I heard this the other night. This would be the worst thing ever, Colton is a beautiful, unique area with great people. A gypsy camp on green land and all these houses would ruin this place. How can a council even think if putting these ideas forward, it's disgusting. I would consider leaving England is this was passed...

Let's build on brownfield and redevelop land that has already been used.

The roads aren't adequate for more traffic, we are losing the green belt that has already been reduced over the last few years and there will be more noise which could lead to house prices falling. Bullerthorpe Lane can't deal with more traffic from a travellers site as the queues to get to the motorway on a morning are already on the increase and there's lots of traffic already cutting through the village on a regular basis.

No decent community would want a travellers site anywhere near, I wonder why!

Let them live somewhere else, why spend money on them, when they put nothing into the coffers by avoiding tax & NI, just thieves the lot of them
