There is too much planned development in this already congested area. More needs to be done in rural areas to the North and South of the region that have capacity and could also develop the service infrastructure required to accommodate the increased population. Many rural market towns could benefit also from a younger profile of residents that will invest and enjoy these communities in years to come.

Do not allow this please. Close to Temple newsam House increased traffic. Congestion is terrible in Bullerthorpe lane. Not enough doctors, schools services to cope.

Decimation of our already shrunken green belt. Wildlife will be decimated. Deer also live in this,area. Also crime rates will soar if a Gypsy camp is,allowed! Why here!!!!

Isn't it busy enough there already?

My daily commute to work is constantly increasing due to heavy traffic on this route. More homes built will only add to this issue and safety will be reduced. Further damage to existing roads already blighted with potholes will increase as a result. Wildlife around this area will also be affected if more homes are built on this greenbelt.

This area can not cope with anymore traffic we are already a rat run for this side of Leeds

Wherever these sites are, local crime increases, fly tipping and nuisance are the norm and residents quality of life is adversely affected, it's a scenic area that would be blighted by this 'camp'

This is definitely the wrong location for a traveller site. There are plenty more plots of land available without ruining that spot.

Pleade do not take anymore of our green spaces around Templenewsham. Houses will loose money if you allow a gypsy camp and as for 165 new houses. I feel this would be totally unacceptable.

Colton village & Bullerthorpe Lane are already very congested at rush hour. Local schools are over subscribed and we already experience unacceptable waiting times for docter's appointments. Additional housing and a travellers site will add more stress to the infrastructure, transport network and schools whilst destroying the green belt and surrounding park land which is currently home to a range of wildlife.

I work near here and it will be a nightmare!

I find it disgusting that LCC are even considering putting a Gypsy traveller site on Bullerthorpe lane. These people are well known for the rubbish that they leave when they travel on, they travel the area seeking re-surfacing of driveways / cutting down trees collecting scrap iron etc. No doubt the trees that they cut down are fly tipped. When all is said and done who picks up the tab for cleaning the mess that they leave. THE COUNCIL TAX PAYERS. I accept that houses need to be built but why on green belt land.

This area is already overpopulated and pitifully short on health and education infrastructure. How 100's more houses and a Gypsy site further ruining what little green space we have left will improve this is beyond me...

I fear most will object to the idea of a Gypsy Traveller sight being built near any existing domicile and mainly due to the stigma attached rather than fact. However, in this instance, I feel strongly about the protection of green belt land especially when there are so many derelict, mis-managed and mis-used industrial/commercial areas located all over West Yorkshire. This is not just a problem here but throughout the UK and councils would win far more support from constituents if they redirected interest into the more deprived areas to regenerate. So to conclude, I would object to any development of property including houses in any area when there are definite alternatives.

I feel like these plans will have a huge negative effect on the existing community. There are happy residents that are in the area now that do not want increased traffic levels, destroyed countryside and wildlife.

A traveller site in the local area will impact tourism (proximity to Temple Newsam), Have a negative impact on community spirit. It will also lead to greater resource required from emergency services (e.g. Police) and local amnesties will be stretched. There are already children being declined entry from Colton Primary school. The traveller's will no doubt require places in a local school. Should our local children be declined entry as a result? The allocated plot is in a dangerous area to access (off Bullerthorpe Lane.) It is already difficult to even cross this road, there are no pavements etc. Traveller sites, such as these have been proven to impact house prices in the local area.
