I strongly object to this action

Living in the area I know that the infrastructure is not able to cope with extra traffic, school places etc. I also don't think the council realise just how much the cost of housing and the poll tax that people pay in the area. If a traveller site is built then the cost of the houses in the area will devalue - are the council going to compensate the local home owners?

Why on earth this country bends over backwards for Gypsies is beyond me - they generally are not law abiding or pay their taxes - disgusting!

People have worked hard to live in this area and every home is kept and presented well, everybody quietly goes about their life & pay their taxes… rewarded by opening a travellers site on the door step?

Colton is already saturated and unable to cope, local amenities including schools are at bursting point, traffic is far too busy, taking more green belt will turn the village into a concrete jungle, a replica of neighbouring Pendas Fields.

I object strongly and will support efforts to defeat this proposal. For those of us who live locally this proposal is distressing but LCC will not consider residents feelings as the sole basis for a decision. Here's a web link that has useful guidance on how to defeat these proposals: http://planninghelp.cpre.org.uk/improve-where-you-live/how-to-comment-on-a-planning-application/letter-of-objection Let's make sure we force the council to back down!

With plans for new housing and retail park on thorp park development roads & transport are going to become more congested & slower. Why do we need more? And a traveller site will bring down house prices & make them unappealing

This is an area of great natural beauty and we should not be losing green belt land when there are lots of brown field sites available.

No consultation on a plan that will adversely affect people of the area is unbelievable. Green belt land which is an amenity to local residents would be totally spoilt and lost. THINK AGAIN, LEEDS CITY COUNCILLORS.

I live in Colton and feel that the houses will detract from a lovely rural feel to the area around Meynell Lane. I also think that siteing 4 gipsy stands right by Temple Newsam is wrong. It will prevent people from accessing the park that way. I am worried too that this will be the thin edge of the wedge, and next year the site will be enlarged and the following, etc. I doubt too that the travellers will take any notice of it being 4 sites and there will usually be far more than that.

No building on green belt and putting more pressure on local schools and services.

This is outrageous, we already have had huge development in this area with homes being built and now more!!! This is a green belt stop thinking pound signs and leave this area of outstanding natural beauty as it is.

FIRSTLY , it's green belt.......... Then they built 'NEW' Colton about, 33 years ago under the promise that there would be no more building on Colton green belt............. Then they built 'THE LATEST COLTON'.. , on the green belt that they was not going to build on?!??!?, so Now they're trying to build a travellers estate?!?!??!? They have just about sort Halton Moor out after 30 years of crap!!!! LCC need to speak to the business on Cross Green Industrial Estate about the spike in crime, break In and theft, every time travellers bed down on cross green, we can't poor the finger as that is racist.........
