I was dumbfounded when I heard of the plans to build more houses,along with proposals for a gypsy site in Colton. Is this a challenge to see how many people can be housed within a relatively small area? It saddens me, that there appears to be a group of people who won't be happy until the last piece of green space has been built on,in this supposedly green & pleasant land,and once we're all packed in like sardines....what then I wonder,because when it's gone,it's most definitely gone. When people made the decision to move to Colton,one of the reasons they no doubt chose the area,is because it's semi rural,with lovely green spaces close by. What the people involved in the decision making process also need to consider,is that it's not just about houses,and the here and now. It's about the impact on the surrounding area, the infrastructure in the area and the planet as a whole. This planet was never meant to covered in concrete. It was meant to sustain a variety of species,all of whom contribute to the overall ecology. This is already seriously out of balance,due to Man,and the compulsion to make money. What a sad legacy we leave those who will eventually witness the results of the short sighted,let's pack em in mentality brigade.

This is yet another display of central government imposing housing quotas on local government. Garforth has already been ruined and now it is another lovely area close by to be potentially ruined.

very concerned about the impact on traffic and the environment in the area.
I purchased my house because of the semi-rural environment it was located in.
The council proposals would to turn it into a massive estate over run with traffic.

I think it's disgusting that this has even been put forward. Not only is it proven that crime rates go up but also house prices in the area will be affected. Totally unacceptable!

I was so proud to move to this area 4 years ago and felt Colton had it all, access to Leeds centre, motorways, local shops but most importantly Temple Newsam and the amazing surrounding scenery, views, and green fields at the end of School Lane which was the main motivator but now I am horrified to hear (by chance really) that they are considering jamming it with houses, gypsy sites, etc. You only have to watch the traffic jams in Sainsbury's & nearby roads some times to see what will happen if this takes place. - it will not be a desirable place to live any more. I suspect our pleas will fall on deaf ears but I thought my views should be heard.
