Too much GREEN Land are taken away from up. we will have none left for our children's , children , and the Gypsy, travellers site should NOT be near Templenewsam Estate, The Estate is a thing of history , beauty & wildlife that can not be returned if this is the incorrect decision,

Have you seen the state the travellers live in. The filth, the rubbish, the noise, thieving, dogs/ horses running loose. Untaxed/unlicensed vehicles. And what do the contribute financially to the coffers??. This is a big NO. Let them have them in Alwoodley, Adel, Bramhope and the like. Plenty of green belt land around there. And, no, I do not live anywhere near Colton.

Bullerthorpe Lane is a death trap for children who may live there as cars use it as a racetrack. I witnessed a car on its roof recently and last year a horse was killed and the rider injured very near the spot of the proposed development. The green belt should be preserved at all costs.

I am disgusted at the proposals for 165 houses and a travellers site this lovely estate will be totally ruined, It is unbelievable that the powers that be seem intent on ruining every decent area. We must fight it.

I strongly oppose the proposals for a Gypsy Travellers site and the building of 165 additional houses on Colton. There are plenty of brownfield sites available there is no need to ruin more Green belt. We must act to stop this.

I am disgusted with the proposals for a travellers site and more houses. A travellers site was proposed for Leeds 17 but was rejected no suprise there as it is one of the wealthiest areas in Leeds. I suggest that we all get our houses valued now and revalued if these proposals go ahead and then invoice the Council for the difference !

We work hard all our lives to buy a nice house in a nice area, so that our kids can be raised in a decent environment and they plan on taking it all away overnight ! Houses will be devalued, the whole area will be gridlocked, crime will rise and so will insurance premiums, Colton School will be obliged to take Gypsy children (when local kids can't even get a place) and we are supposed to allow this to happen ? NO CHANCE.- STAND UP AND FIGHT FOR COLTON.

I agree with all of the comments - especially when there are other more suitable areas like cross green that could be used. Interested to know where the person who proposed this lives - I'm sure it's no where close to Colton.
We have worked hard to be able to buy a house in this area. It is of no benefit to any of the residents - just worry and uncertainty for us all.

House site.
Who owns this at present? Temple Newsam was left to Leeds Council to run on behalf of residents. By selling the land LCC will recieve money from developers. Brown field sites invariably private owned so no money to LCC
What about the existing buildings (ie Yew Tree Farm?) How will approval to demolish be granted.
The site is not level and has natural drainage systems.
Residents have invested heavily in their houses in preference to moving due to the visual amenity enjoyed in Colton.
Agree with comments on infrastructure/schools/medical facilities.
The area off the East Leeds link road is far more suitable and is in need of development.
Why not here for houses and travellers seems far more logical.
