There is no way the infrastructure can support this. Traffic, conjestion and anti social behaviour will only increase. In addition to a traveller site on green belt land in a historic area. The plans are wholly unacceptable.

When temple newsam was left to Leeds council it was for the benefit of the residents, how does a gypsy camp benefit the residents? Surely this breaches the original deed. I also believed the camp is located on grimes dyke which is a protected historical site? Does anybody know which councillor proposed this site?

Traffic going into town through Halton is so bad already with people cutting through Colton Road. The infrastructure cannot support this.

The road layout around Colton road east and the entrance to sainsburys and the food outlets is already heavily congested and causes long delays to local residents. This will only exacerbate the problem. The gypsy travellers site will increase the crime rate and spoil what is a lovely piece of green belt land enjoyed by many. This must not happen.

The travellers site cannot go ahead. Not only will it cause unrest with residents it will spoil greenery and cause house values to decrease as well as unwanted amounts of waste in the area. This MUST NOT happen!

Colton is a quiet, friendly and desirable area with beautiful green surroundings. It does however suffer from heavy traffic congestion at times. To build more houses and a travellers site would only ruin and worsen both aspects! Why do travellers need a site anyway - are they not supposed to be travelling around?

I say no to the planning application. There is no infrastructure to support more houses. There isn't enough facilities for Colton since that was built which leaves young people with nothing to do. I object very strongly to the traveller site as from personal experience whenever the fair or travellers camp nearby the crime rate soars.

I am against the proposed gypsy site on Bullerthorpe Lane as there is already a huge amount of traffic in this area and this site will encourage more traffic. I object to green belt land being used for this. There are plenty of brownfield sites that can be used instead.

Colton Road East is already a rat run from Bullerthorpe Lane. The traffic calming hasn't helped reduce this. The junction with School Lane is congested at School time and a new road into the development will only make this worse. Where are the plans to keep this road safe and how will Colton Primary cope with the pressure to accept more local children?

I am angered and distressed that this proposed plan has even managed to make it this far. I am completely sick and tired that every single antisocial, unpleasant or dangerous development is immediately sited in the east of the city, amazingly the travellers site planned for Leeds 17 is not happening, what a shock! Build a massive waste disposal centre, stick it in east Leeds, sewage works, giant wind turbine, most intrusive motor way (surfaced incorrectly many years ago, promise made to resurface, never done), ENOUGH

The roads around Colton are already very congested - what about further traffic pollution? Also the further destruction of green spaces will spoil Colton for its residents. The Doctors are full and so are the local schools and so this proposed housing expansion is unwelcome and unworkable for Colton residents. The area of the old Strikes garden centre on the A63 has better road links than Colton!

I object to this camspite as been a resident of Crossgates for over 20 years & have seen the decline in the area with immigrants coming in this will only worsen the area
