No to a travellers site. My husband and I have worked hard to save our money to live in a nice safe area of Leeds. There are plenty of other areas in Leeds which would be more suitable for them and match their needs better. Having lived near travellers in the past I have seen the detriment they can have on a community and property values and would hate the colton community to be affected in the same way.

No to the travellers site. There are other places they can go in Leeds where the housing market won't be affected. If they would like cheap or free land then put them in an area where the value of the land & surrounding area matches what they are willing to pay.

No to the travellers site. We are first time buyers and stretched ourselves to buy a property in a nice area of Leeds. Having a travellers site right on our doorstep would significantly impact the market value of our properties. not only that but the area around Temple Newsam is a beautiful and safe area to walk. I am not confident that could be said with a travellers site there. Please please please do not allow a travellers site to be placed in such a nice area.

well...here we go again another gypsy site planned for a good area wherever they settle crime rates up rubbish everywhere...go take a look at geldard road what the hell are the council thinking of....or have they had backhanders

Our family have lived in the colton area for generations and there has been that much development over the years that there is hardly any countryside left.

Apparently this was passed in 2012! I bought a new build in the area in 2013 with no warning of this site otherwise I wouldn't have bought in the area. From reading on the internet I have found one article saying some people reported the site not having as much affect as they thought it would. However on forums people are reporting traveller children bullying other children, violence at schools, inability to sell their houses and a huge decrease in local population as a result of permanent sites! I paid a premium for my house and continue to do so with my council tax! I wouldn't be paying this if the site was here before I moved, however I wouldn't have moved here if that were the case! It's not fair that we will either all lose money on our houses or be stuck here unable to sell!

No. Iv lived in Colton area over ten years and noticed massive increase in traffic over this time - some mornings queue for ages to pull out onto A6210

I am disappointed in Leeds City Council for proposing further development within the east Leeds area on green belt land and surrounding Temple Newsam. I paid a premium when purchasing my house and pay high Tax to live in a suburb of Leeds surrounded by open fields. Since my purchase the open fields have decreased due to over development. The area is congested with traffic already, the whole infrastructure cannot cope with more houses, as well as the local schooling problems. Travellers will not integrate in a suburban area like Colton - How absurd.

Rediculous. Colton has already been overdeveloped and the road system cannot handle any more traffic. I guess looking from the plan that the access road would be at the end of School Lane. More danger for the pupils at the school from more traffic and more traffic along the only road through Colton, Colton Lane, Colton Rd East. Lets not forget that this is also a road on which one young lady has already lost her life due to people driving like idiots through Colton. As for the Traveller site the Council should be ashamed of themselves for even thinking about putting them in an part of the city neighbouring Templenewsam, one of the main attractions of the City of Leeds.
