This village is already highly populated with full schools and congested road systems, traffic already impacting on the village as a whole. On the strength of this more housing would take too much from the area and it`s green belt status , on top of that a traveller site would be highly unacceptable given all of the above

Not fair on locals or surrounding areas. Put it to better use.

in no way do we want a permanent Gypsy site in Leeds 15 or Leeds 25. We have enough trouble to deal with already

The last travellers around here stole the train from the old garden centre site. Keep them away!

crime rates and trouble around Colton will rise

regretably I would not feel safe in my local area if we had travellers here, it is a fact that crime rates have gone up when we have had travellers here in the past,just no!!

Colton is a lovely safe, family orientated community, by allowing travellers to have a permanent residence here it would spoil the area and attractions! Please don't go through with it!

Please let us keep our little bit of countryside and no travellers please. They unfortunately have a bad reputation and I would be worried living near this sadly.

Incredible that Leeds City Council would consider a green field site at Colton for a travellers camp. It will spoil the area, increase crime and is not in keeping with the area.

the proposal for the travellers site is not acceptable as the crime rate will go up in the area .Why not extend the travellers site on the A1.The proposal for 165 new homes will create more conjestion in a very conjested area already.No to both of the proposals made

Its total unacceptable to build a travellers camp site on historic green belt land. Its a disgraceful lack of understanding for the environment and utter incompetence of the planners involved with the proposal. Common sense will hopefully prevail within the council. Its a no brainer - use a brown field site and do not destroy what can never be replaced. A large scale development of 165 houses on the green belt land to the south of Colton will cripple the local road infrastructure and annihilate an area of outstanding natural importance forever. This cannot be allowed to happen.

The building of the new homes and traveller site will also spoil an area of outstanding beauty, the Leeds festival was cancelled to help preserve Temple Newsam so how can a permanent building project be a positive for Temple Newsam? Unfortunately travellers have a reputation of bringing crime and a lack of pride in their area i.e. littering etc, how is this good for a family park? Also having a travellers site in close proximity to Colton will have a detrimental effect on house prices. Colton cannot handle the increased traffic, not only is it a safety issue it’s also an environmental one, the infrastructure simply cannot cope! Also demand for primary school places will increase at Colton primary which cannot be met.

The words travellers and permanent are not words that sit well together.

No to travellers site and new homes. Houses will go down in price. Traffic is busy already and more homes will add to the problem. No doubt crime will go up.

I want to object against Leeds city council's plans for more housing and a traveller site at bullerthorpe lane, colton. This is a beautiful area of historic and natural importance, which the council want to destroy instead of building on the mass of brown field sites around Leeds. No thank you

How on earth can the council justify a travellers site on the very edge of Temple Newsam estate, a beautiful historical site within green belt land? Madness!
