- Due to CoVid 19 and college campus shutdowns, students are unable to visit schools -- a crucial part of their college decision process. Also, now with the financial uncertainty caused by the virus and plummeting oil prices, the stock market collapse and resulting job losses/business closings, college affordability is more in question than ever.
May 1st is the current deadline to accept college offers. This decision is way too important to make without knowing your financial situation, let alone a campus visit (Virtual tours aren't the same as being there).
We are seeking an extension (BY ALL COLLEGES/UNIVERSITIES) of the deadline to AT LEAST June 1st if not July 1, 2020.

Virtual tours just feel like a joke. You cant get a real vibe for a place through a zoom call. June 1st is the bare minimum.
make it july 1st. schools are being totally unreasonable expecting us to decide during a national emergency.
I really need to see the campus before I commit. its a huge choice and the deadline is stressing me out so much.
the current situation is legit crazy. give us time to figure out our finances.
PLEASE extend this. everything is so uncertain right now and rushing into a major financial commitment feels super reckless.

my dad just got laid off last week. how are we supposed to pay for a deposit when we dont even know if we can afford the tuition next year? schools need to give us more time.
