The Colgate Divinity property is a historical landmark. No construction should be allowed on that site. There are apartments across the street and new apartments going up on Goodman and 490. This area does not need more apartments. As a resident in this neighborhood I say no to the proposed development.

The destruction of land, trees, neighborhood feel, etc. etc. is to much for this community to bear. As a lifelong member of this neighborhood, I oppose the the current development plans.

to lose this iconic rochester landmark to a greedy developer would not only be an insult to the citizens of Rochester but mar the skyline beyond repair. i vote to stop the development in order to preserve the dignity of the divinity school campus.

This project needs to be reworked and maintain the historic beauty and integrity that is integral to this property and the neighborhood. The current plan does none of this.

I am totally opposed to the current development proposal. It is a desecration of this historic site. Cutting down trees, excavating a glacial moraine, and building more than 100 apartment dwellings will forever damage the site and the neighborhood. There needs to be a better plan.

My recent visit to the Mt. Washington area in Pittsburgh inclusive of a trip to Frank Lloyd Wright's historic Usonian development at Kentuck Knob leads me to say that is is VERY POSSIBLE to develop the property at Colgate Divinity in a much more aesthetically pleasing and perhaps, dare I say, iconic fashion that would not only be in keeping with the history of the property itself, but a true reflection of Rochester’s respect for its history AS WELL AS an elevated approach to its future. Being that the current plan does NOT do this, I ask that City Council reject the submitted proposal in favor of one that better suits this iconic property as well as our neighborhood and our city.

The overwhelming passionate and thoughtful opposition to this purposed plan speaks volumes. If this is “the best” this developer who has no expertise in historic sites can do, then he may not be the right one. Someone with more vision and less profit motivation needs to be found. It is disappointing to see a school whose claim to fame has been social justice lower their standards all in the name of luxury apartments just to sell this historic property. Serious concerns and unanswered questions remain. Approval of this plan by the city will be a travesty. City council please listen to the people you represent.

From using the library as a visitor in college to living downhill from Cogate I have come to value the campus as a unique part of our neighborhood. Consider development could enhance our neighborhood and city and improve the lives of City residents. This development destroys valuable greenspace and devalues the historic buildings. With so many high rise, high rent developments already underway in our neighborhood and city I don't see the need for another at this location.

I'm extremely concerned about the negative impact this project will have in the neighborhood we live in. Before approving any project of this kind, it is key to assess all the environmental effects.

In my opinion, this is a shortsighted project that will make the good city of Rochester a less desirable place to live and visit. Why develop in such a way this Rochester jewel? Please find an appropriate project that takes advantages and enhances the majestic nature of this unique building and space in the city.
