"bad behaviour", what precisely does it mean ? Bad for business or bad for patients ??? Patients need to acknowledge the reality of uncertainty and the fact that our perceptions of what is really effective will change !!!

It's great to see so much support for these four simple goals. At the moment Cochrane synthesises "the best available evidence" which is often not very good, or hidden if it's inconvenient to those with vested interests in keeping it secret. One of the key goals of Cochrane by 2020 was to advocate for evidence, and very little progress has been made with this goal. So as well as embracing these four goals, Cochrane also needs to do a lot more to call out the poor (and sometimes biased) research which blights its reviews, and do more to advocate for better primary research on which its reviews are based. No more garbage in garbage out.

I agree with the four major policy issues. I am not a Cochrane member. I have been a huge Cochrane advocate. Such advocacy is now held in abeyance.

The need for Cochrane to cultivate a more open and tolerant culture for scientific discussion in addition to more transparent governance practices can not be stressed enough. Given its public mandate Cochrane needs to better align its culture with the public interest. Fully support this much needed effort.

Improving these four policy issues seems necessary to keep Cochrane respected and relevant as a source of quality EbM research. Especially the improvment of the business model to increase the accessiblity of the research (OpenAccess) would be a welcome improvement.
