I'm a Cochrane member and Coordinating Editor of the Metabolic and Endocrine Disorders Group. After thorough contemplation I am convinced that no matter what point of view one has regarding this mess the worst message to the world would be "we go on with our business as usual". At this stage the collateral damage is immense and can only be counteracted through maximum openess and transparency.

I am a member. Support for all 4 policy proposals. I'd like to add 5) Revise conflict of interests policy and keep reviews free from anyone with any competing interests, whether financial, reputational, or ideological. Objective reviewers only on the reviews please. Nobody with vested interest in either the review itself or proponents of interventions or ideas being assessed. The reviews need to be completely free from bias or they won't be taken seriously.
