It is already difficult making ends meet currently, especially with the implementation of VAT. If fees were to increase any more many individuals would experience difficulties in obtaining a higher education-- which would subsequently lead to an uneducated population because of the high cost of college.

School fees have already gone up, and many students are finding it difficult to pay their school fees, why increase it more and risk the chance of losing more students

Although a way of doing things, its not the best alternative at the moment for raising funds at the moment. Its too sudden.

There is a blatant disregard for students that are struggling to pay school fee's. VAT was previously added to our bill which is another fee that we have to deal with, not only are students outraged by this rumor of an increase but we are hurt affected because it puts us in a position to question whether we will be able to continue pursuing an education at the college of the bahamas where nothing is improved. Not the quality of education nor the service provided. Say no to the increase!

COB only had to be a government institution - demanding more on the people and yet continues fail in provide service of quality. This is utter nonsense.

This drastic increase in tuition has been pushed on the COB students with out any form of warning. How can the heads of this preposterous plot expect us as students to come up with the money to pay our tutuion in such a short period of time. This is injustice and it is not fair.Give persons a few months in advance to prepare themselves for such a drastic change. The persons who came up with this idea have no heart not only did they pop out of the blue with this but they did it around exam time because they know persons would be too bust worried about exam to make a a big deal about..I understand that becoming a university requires a lot of money and effort but this increase is too much too quickly a whole 50% increase really? I expect more from persons in charge who are suppose to be helping and elevating students. In my eyes most of you don't give one hoot about educating that Bahamian population.Just like most other colleges it all about making money and every bit of it too...

As an education major, mother and Bahamian I am gravely concerned for the integrity of one our most precious resources, Education. Should this most important cornerstone, which is so intricately linked to the success of our country, continue to be attacked mayhem will ensue. Raising tuition makes higher education unavailable to the masses and facilitates ignorance. With ignorance comes its many sister vices, poverty, despair, hopelessness, unemployment, crime, etc. Let's fight to keep higher education within the reach of all and protect the integrity of our country's success!
