I can understand suspending him from one game, but firing him is going to the extreme. The principal should be held accountable for his actions trying to destroy Mr. Sivel's career, and for what.

Adults need to take the young youth into consideration when making decisions to remove a key mentor and leader from Their lives during some of the toughest years they face. Juwan is the only male figure a lot of these young men have. And Please seaford Staff he filled shoes that other men on staff haven’t and won’t fill in his absence because their time isn’t dedicated to show others a successful path. Sports is a key and the only thing some of these kids have and you have taken it. Sad

Coach Sivels is a great coach who cares about his players not only on the court but off the court as well. He’s the definition of a great coach whereas building life long relationships with his players and also preparing them for life after basketball.

Bring coach Sivels back . He didn’t go against DIAA rules and as a principal why such harsh punishment for a student who is on the team to not play . Yes he should’ve followed commands by his supervisor but as a supervisor do u not know the rules ? And you suspended him from coaching the next game then turned around and fired him is that not double punishment ? Seaford school district your wrong and I hope you can make this right ! That mans heart and soul was not only into basketball but into them boys too and they’re hurt over this . Literally shedding tears which should show u his compassion for it .

You not just hurting Sivvs but your hurting the team and the youth that he has impact, he is more than a coach and you all see the big impact he has with the youth reaching some kids that most staff and principal has given up on but y'all don’t want speak on that but rather try make Sivvs out as the bad guy nah Seaford school district has to much other ugly issues with staff then this stop picking and choosing the battles, give him a second chance just like others that have made a mistake… It’s either you want the good for the kids or you don’t

This appears to be a matter where two staff members had a difference of opinion as to a student playing or not. The coach made a decision according to what was in the best interest at the time for the team, doesn't seem personal. This doesn't seem to be any violation for 6-8 grade students eligibility to participate under the NFHS. I pray that one's livelihood as well as encouragement to students, commitment and dedication of services to the school district is taking into consideration before making a deplorable decision. AMEN
