I can honestly say that coach Ron Felling still to this day has an impact on my life. He was a coach that expected and demanded excellence on the court and in the class room. He taught us how to fight through adversity and overcome situations on the court. He never allowed you to give up on yourself and challenged each player to give 100% at all times.
This has translated to life and when I have wanted to give up on something or thought it was going to be impossible, I thought of the days when coach Ron Felling would light a fire inside me that made me feel invincible. I am sure any player that played for him knows what that experience was like.

Coach Felling took good talent and turned it into great talent during his years in Lawrenceville. Historically, Lawrenceville had a rich tradition when it comes to Illinois High School Basketball. When Coach Felling arrived on the scene in the 60s, he produced teams that exceeded the expectations of players and fans. He literally put Lawrenceville on the road to High School basketball greatness. There is no one more deserving than Coach Felling to have his name engraved( in Large Letters) on the Lawrenceville High School Gymnasium.

As an official traveling to all parts of southern Illinois and people knowing I am from Lawrenceville. I have been told many of stories about Coach Felling. All in a positive manner. 30-40 years later and people still remember so much about the Felling days. I think this request is long over due.
