I student taught at Lawrenceville H.S. in 1971-72 after I returned from Vietnam and graduated from Eastern Illinois University. I was there with C. Reedy, Jeff Trickett, and Ron Felling. Coach Felling should absolutely be honored by Lawrenceville and the high school. I'm completely surprised that he hasn't been honored previously. He is the first of several mentors I was luck enough to have had in my life that convinced me to continue my career as a teacher and basketball coach, being inducted into the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association in 2010.

Is this really required in order for this MAN to have his legacy remembered! Remember.... for those of you that were not residents during that time, he WAS Lawrenceville. You should be so lucky to be mentioned as a resident of the same town that he brought so much pride and notoriety to. He had more of a positive effect on the young people he came in contact with than those who are opposing the rightful place he so justly earned. So set aside the petty jealousy and do the mature and right thing!!

This is a no brainer when anybody have accomplished as much as this man has . The school should been sending a letter out to his family asking can there use his name for the gym. GOOD LUCK I hope they do it.

Coach Felling was an amazing coach and developed a basketball dynasty in a small town in Illinois!
I still tell my friends in Arizona about the basketball teams in lawrenceville in the 70's & 80's.
