Mission Statement:

We, the undersigned residents of New York City and supporters of freedom and democracy, petition the City Council to co-name the street and corner currently housing the Russian embassy at 61-69 Lexington Avenue, Manhattan--specifically, the stretch and corners of the E 67th Street between Lexington and 3rd Ave--as "The Alexey Navalny Way." This symbolic act honors the unwavering courage and significant contributions of Alexey Navalny, a leading figure in the fight for human rights and democratic reforms in Russia.

• A Beacon of Hope: Navalny has consistently exposed corruption within the Russian government, advocated for fair elections, and inspired countless Russians to fight for their rights. He has become a powerful symbol of hope and resistance against authoritarianism. Alexey was murdered on February 16, 2024.
• A Message of Solidarity: Co-naming the street after Navalny sends a clear message of solidarity with the Russian people's struggle for democracy and stands in stark contrast to the oppressive regime the embassy represents.
• A Powerful Symbol in NYC: New York City has a long history of championing human rights and standing up for oppressed people around the world. This action aligns perfectly with those values and would resonate deeply with our diverse communities.
