We live across the street from Hofmann Forest. Much of the reason why we moved to the area was due to appreciation of this natural resource and for the enjoyment of our children. Please STOP the destruction of this beautiful preserve!!!

The sheer ecological impact to development of that property should be reason enough. I'm sure if research is done on the stipulations for the property being donated, you may find this sale would violate those conditions.
Having grown up in that area and understanding the delicate balance and how much that forrest contributes to the viability of the natural habitats, it will be the ruin of that area.
I beg you to NOT GO THROUGH WITH THE SELL.

I fully support this cause! There would be so many negative impacts to the ecosystems surround that watershed and ultimately the Crystal Coast. I love that area and vacationed there for many years! Protect Hofmann Forrest!

Leave our wildlife, water and trees alone. We need these things to live. They provide life. These things are not for humans to just destroy at will.

Do not sell this forest to people who are going to tear it down and use it commercially. This is needed to protect the coast line and cities nearby.

J.V. Hofmann was my great uncle. Everything I would say has been said except to add that the Forestry Center in Cloquet,MN continues to provide the laboratory setting for many important silvicultural research projects and is a critical component of the College of Natural Resources at the University of Minnesota. The Hoffman Forest is no different.

Not only would this sale be a loss to NCSU College of Natural Resources and it's students but it is a unique environmental track that should be preserved.

This forest is located a couple of miles from where I live. I would be sad to see the eradication of it's beauty. I live in such a lovely area. The wild life is quite abundant and seems to have a sense of balance although more and more change happens with the construction of housing developments. I really don't want to see the Hofmann Forest go as well.

I was part of the successful protest when Duke University tried to sell off a large part of its forestry-school forest. That would have been a disaster to both the University and the Triangle-area community, and the sale of Hofmann Forest is the same kind of greedy, short-sighted, and disastrous plan.

We need to protect wold spaces forwilfdlife to keep quality of life for animals, and humans. We have paved and inhabited too much already.
