Roxanne Jones, of the Push Marketing Group, recently wrote an op-ed piece for CNN regarding the George Zimmerman trial. While this whole situation was tragic, and reasonable people can have different opinions on what happened and what the outcome should be, Ms. Jones's article was clearly biased by racial prejudice and unforgivably distorts the facts to support her foregone conclusion that George Zimmerman is a vicious murderer who went out that night looking for someone to kill. She distorts and ignores facts, referring to Martin as: "an unarmed child [who] is confronted and gunned down in the street by a grown man who's trained to kill, that's murder." Her article makes reference to the troubling racial divide in this country while blithely ignoring her own contribution to racial discord. This article is completely irresponsible and does not deserve to be called "journalism". Others in the media spotlight have lost their jobs for racially insensitive comments and in the interest of fairness and justice and in order to foster healing and promote a greater racial harmoney, I believe that Ms. Jones should be fired as well. I don't know if Ms. Jones is a regular paid contributor to CNN, but CNN should issue a retraction and apology and refrain from publishing any future editorials written by Ms. Jones. She should also be fired from her primary position, which I believe is with the Push Marketing Group.
