Please save the rink! We love playing hockey and skating in Sugarland.

This will be a crippling loss to Houston's hockey and figure skating communities. Houston is already at critically low levels of ice availability for the 4th or 5th largest metro area in the US. This could kill these two sports for all intents and purposes and virtually guarantee that Houston will not even have a chance to compete nationally.

Don't shut down this rink it is the only pulse hockey has left in the Houston area. Bad enough we lost the Aeros.

The rink was one of my first jobs and part of me since 1997. Losing the rink not only affects me but also hundreds of families and kids as well as adults. #SAVESLISC

Please don't let this rink close! The rink has had such a positive impact on so many lives and we will all be devastated if it closes.

There are very few ice rinks in Houston. It will be devasting for skaters and coaches if the rink is closed.

My son plays hockey and will be heartbroken if he can not continue to play in a rink that is close to home.

Sugar Land Ice is a great facility and an asset to the community. Even if a new rink was ultimately built in some other location hockey and figure skating programs in the area would be destroyed in the meantime. If a private investor cannot be located the city must step in or hundreds of families as well as the city’s reputation will be negatively impacted. When relocating to Sugar Land in 2008 proximity to SLICE was one of the key considerations for my family.

The rink has been a home away from home for me any family for 17 years. The rank is a intricate and important piece of Sugarland family life. It must stay open.

So many children, teens, and adults love to figure skate or play hockey here. There is really no other place in the area. Please help!

SLICE has been a part of my and my family's weekly activities ever since I moved to Houston 17 years ago. It is a fixture in our lives, as well as many others.
