Please save the Sugar Land Ice and Sports Center. My 5 year old son is learning to skate there with weekly classes in the hopes that one day he will be able to learn the sport of ice hockey. It would be a tremendous loss to the community if the ice rink were to close.

Participation in Houston hockey leagues has been growing over the last 30 years. The Houston area needs the 2 sheets of ice and the services enabled by the Sugar Land Ice and Sports Center...ESPECIALLY the STARskaters Skate Therapy organization that provides invaluable therapy for incredible people with important needs!

Being disabled myself, I completely understand the NEED for programs SINCH as this. Recreation is one thing StarSkaters provide, but it's so much more than that--it gives a disabled individual a sense of more independence and worth! PLEASE do anything and everything you can to make this wonderful program continue!

Been playing at Sugarland ice for 20 years. And it is now where I'm teaching my daughter how to skate. Need to save this rink!

This rink is one of the features that makes Sugar Land so special. It may have been born through the Houston Aeros but it has grown into the fabric of the community and has added richness to so many lives. Please consider the value this rink provides to the community.

I've played hockey here at least twice a week for the last 16 years. This rink is a huge part of the community.

I attended high school in Sugar Land and both then and now I remarked about the lack of activities for kids (of all ages). I remember joining friends for ice skating, watching my local high school team play hockey, and eating pizza afterwards. I know people now who play there on a frequent basis. The facility closing would hurt the community and further limit the number of safe and fun activities available in the area.

The Skate Therapy program is in danger of ending because of the closing of the rink. About 100 disabled skaters look forward to this Saturday morning program as the highlight of their week. For more info on the program go to StarSkaters online.

Please keep the rink open it is slice of home for us transplants from up north. It is a great place to meet like minded folks who love the great game of hockey.

Keep the rink, serve the community, develop hockey players and athletes and certainly take a look at programs like STARskaters who rely on this facility to support and help some wonderful folks who are in a much better place because of their time on the Ice!!!
