On 28th September 2015 at a meeting in the County Council Offices Mr K Kelly CEO advised Clydagh bridge demolition was going ahead and the building of a new bridge, but he was open to a dialogue with locals to look at landscaping at the new bridge area. Two months on no meeting has been set up.
We request that Galway County council honour this proposal and meet with local residents' nominated representatives as soon as possible to discuss community involvement in the landscaping at Clydagh Bridge, stone facing on he new bridge, heritage preservation, and also safety at junctions at Clydagh bridge and Kylebroughlan.

The long silence from the council office is frustrating but we are continuing to push for the meeting we were promised. I am gathering our community concerns so we remain prepared whenever they finally decide to sit down with us.

Seeing this level of support reminds me how much this bridge means to our community history. It is clear that the council can no longer ignore our request for a meeting.

Ì hope that Galway Co. Co. honours it's commitment to meet reps to agree landscaping.
The old bridge should never had been knocked, our heritage. Meet the local people to discuss please.
As a resident I would hope the council would at least do what they agreed and involve us in the process of the reconstruction of the new bridge.
Very disappointed at how the Clydagh Bridge was torn down. Please include the locals as far as is practicable in the landscaping of the area.
I'm very disappointed that Galway county council will not engage with locals at any stage -they need to collaborate with local communities

Let's get one thing right and not allow that structure to look completely out of place next to the mill but rather face it in stone to complement its setting.
