We canceled our membership because of our dissatisfaction with the availability of pool use decreasing, yet the prices increasing.

While I definitely appreciate that these are trying times and everyone is doing their best, I have to express my unhappiness with the increasingly diminishing pool hours. I don’t understand the pools being closed during after school hours in June. Why is it tied to the school system?

I would like to remain a member. We love the pool but it is frustrating to be a member of something and to have no voice. A membership board with a voice at the table would really help all of the communities at least have input. There could be reasons for lots of these decisions but nothing is communicated to explain, with real transparency and truthfulness, why decisions are being made. That isn't how a membership community is supposed to work. It also an awful business model. Most pool communities don't work this way. We can do better.

Our family is extremely frustrated by the limited hours of the pool and how much it has decreased in its season over the last years. It used to be open for much longer and allowed for us to utilize our membership for more of the year. We also echo the frustration of other members that the pool was not open on the Friday of memorial day weekend!

Longtime members/resident here... I have held membership since summer 2017. I feel disappointed most in the apathetic responses to concerns to members share over the past few years. I haven't felt members have mattered much in recent years but have continued membership because we have a pool located in our neighborhood and in the past the cost reflected the value. Well, my kids go to a year round school track 1 (like many others) and are out of school today for summer between June 3rd-Jul8th and our pool isn't even full open to them for their summer break until June 13th with closures and limited hours we basically feel like we have paid dues for the previous year every month 80.00$/960$ to get to use the pool a disproportionate amount of times to membership cost. We used to be able to bring guests... now it is outrageous and really unnecessary to have done that. I understand the Club needs to make a profit but closing days, limiting hours, broken features, current operational days/times and guest policies are suffocating. We wanted to cancel last year as we went approximately 9 times we went for more than a dip... 100$ a visit could be used elsewhere. It does seem the business model is no longer member-centered but has rather priorities have shifted to being a year-round RSA, swim lesson, and class-based pool that has squeezed their family membership holders to the point of frustration that we don't have much of a choice other than to vacate memberships because this is year after year frustrating the past few seasons... when is it enough? Maybe not all issues can be solved to everyone's liking or satisfaction but I don't get the feeling ANYTHING is being heard or received in the feedback over the past few seasons as it has moved in the opposite direction of accommodating or addressing common complaints... it has felt like we've been completely ignored and are not valued and that's the thing that I just can't reconcile. The point is...we simply do deserve

1) Obviously pool closures for maintenance is not happening due to the Oaks splash pad, etc not working/running at all. 2) The pools are not closed for maintenance but to only generate revenue for the club. 3) Appalling that the Bluffs pool used to be open from April - October, and now shortened to May - September and with weekly closures. 4) The pool slides are not apples to apples, and therefore, a swim test for the Bluffs slide should be different from the Oaks and North slides. 5) The change in guest passes and fees are outrageous.
Carrie basically telling everyone to move on if not happy is not a good approach. We enjoy the pool and would like to be heard. The year-over-year changes continue going from bad to worse. Please hear our pleas, and let’s come to a solution!

Same cost, same amenities, less days, more rules. Great business model!
Also, if you’re closed a whole day for maintenance I would hope that almost guarantees things actually work.

We are extremely frustrated with the sudden changes this year, including the reduced hours, reduced guest passes, and higher cost for guests. It is unacceptable to reduce the benefit of membership without reducing our cost - and without feedback from members.

The limited hours of the pool are unacceptable. How the pool is closed on a Friday night is disappointing and closing at 3pm, just in time for kids to get out of school (as well as when lifeguards are available to work) is not logical and poor planning.

As a resident & a local Realtor the pools in the Sunsets are a very important aspect of keeping our neighborhood ms as some of the most desirable in the Holly Sorings area

The reduction in hours and days closed is not okay for the amount we pay. Also, the south pool isn’t open past 3pm on weekdays? Why? We prefer to go in the late afternoon.

The pool is a fiasco. The idea and execution of swim test for kids is ridiculous. Young lifeguards inconsistently enforce the rules about the swim test. It’s a mess.

When we joined the pool in 2018 the benefits of the membership were worth the cost. The pools were open longer, there were winter months activities that were added that made the membership desirable. However, in the last couple of years we have truly debated whether this membership is worth the year round expense.

Our sentiment is similar to many others. A primary benefit to being in the Bluffs when we first moved in was the extended pool hours from April-October. This has been taken away from us in recent years with half-baked justification as to why. Seeing the Club allow swim meets year round when members can't have access is NOT ok.

Since joining in 2018 free member events on holidays have been cut from DJs and free Mr Softee and Southern Sno balls to buy your own Sunset Slush and a free ice pop on 4th of July. No more Mother’s Day events or parents night out. What happened to Santa at the Oaks? Reduced # of guests passes, higher guest rate, greatly reduced pool open hours. Meanwhile outside businesses, RSA and Point Me To The Water, are using the pools while members aren’t allowed in. Maybe these things all have legit reasons behind them ending but we’d never know because communication from the club is terrible and inconsistent at best.
Enticing members in with extended swim season in a heated pool only to tell them “no one comes when the pool is open in the fall.” Maybe that’s because weekday hours are 10-3, when most are working and at school? No member surveys leave members to email management directly with complaints only to be told that it’s a private club and members can resign their membership since they seem to disagree with changes.
Tired of the excuse that this is better than Ted. The idea of 4 neighborhoods sharing 4 pools is no longer working and new strategies need to be taken. What are the options? Are you in debt from where Ted put the pools? There are other revenue options and I’d bet if you’d open the pools more, offer better events, and offer a club where members feel like they’re really getting a club experience, many members would be willing to pay more.
You have a wonderful community of members willing to help create positive change. The more dismissive you allow Carrie to be of legitimate member concerns, the more disgruntled members will get. I’d encourage you to face the issues head on, allow members to be heard, act on their concerns, and bring in management with experience in pools/hospitality/club management.

Hopefully the pools can go back to offering more hours/days. Swimming is definitely the main reason we, and many others, joined in the first place and have been paying all Winter for.
I agree 100%
