Closure of West Norwood Delivery Office SE27

Seriously? How the heck do you expect us to collect post from Anerley?? So much for a local service, and what about the jobs. Disgraceful.

I'm a freelance worker in West Norwood. I rely on this local sorting office to access missed parcels quickly. I do not have a car and the extra time to reach a sorting office much further out would cost me valuable time on tight deadlines. Luckily, I have my health and can walk or cycle. What about those who cannot travel so easily?

Ridiculous idea

This is a well used sorting/collection office. To move it so far away ridiculous , many people in the community will find it extremely difficult to get to the new site . Is there no way they can incorporate the office with any new building plans - keeping it on the same site ?

Please please please do not close down west nor wood delivery office! It is a vital part of the local wet norwood community snd travelling an extra 3 miles to collect my post etc is not a sensible or practical idea at all. Sometime community comes before profits!!!

West Norwood needs this vital local service and the West Norwood postal workers need their jobs.

Don't close our delivery office

I am upset that we will have to travel more than three miles to retrieve a package in Annerley. Keep the office in West Norwood.

Please don't close this post office. To move it out to create flats is superbly short-sighted: the more people who live here, the more we need a proper infrastructure of facilities to help our community function properly. Turning it into flats is just greedy.

Is it not possible to re-open this? I can't believe it's closed with only 48 signatures, I would definitely sign and I'm sure at least 1,000 others would if they were aware

Hi Noel I am trying to sign your petition but it says it is closed - please reactivate it asap as it is important that this delivery/sorting office remains open. As previous commentators have said, the general public are shopping on line and a lot are delivered by the royal mail. If this office is moved to anerley we will all be forced to choose other delivery companies and the Royal Mail will lose alot of business unnecessarily.

Apart from the major inconvenience of closing a very well-used office, it will force more traffic onto already congested roads between West Norwood and Anerley. Moreover this is exceptionally short-sighted, at a time when people are doing more and more online shopping, and therefore needing more and more home deliveries, to be closing yet another sorting office. I, like most Inhabitants of West Norwood, are against the closure of this office.

This is a horrible idea. Making local residents travel 3 miles to pick up missed post is outrageous. Thank you for setting up this petition and alerting the community!

This is ridiculous - Anerley is a long way to have to travel to pick up post.
