My concern is not only for the collection of mail from an easily accessible place but what about the letter post and post people. Will our post have to travel to and from Penge? I'm sure most of the posties live fairly locally - how will this affect them?

My concern at moving the sorting office is that will undoubtedly cause excessive delays when collecting parcels. The opening hours at West Norwood already make it difficult for a full time worker to collect during the week - this will be exacerbated by having a larger office with a wider coverage area (unless they're planning multiple staff/counters which is unlikely). The same problem is true for those who can't or don't drive, or are of limited means. Can a suitable alternative (but still local) site should be considered if they must close the existing collection office.

As a West Norwood resident who doesn't drive, the move creates a huge problem. The key issue is parcel and registered post pick up. Could those not be housed in the West Norwood area (the post office?) to maintain this vital service.

The royal mail should never have been sold off and so not surprised by these developments as they try to cash in on prime real estate. Typical of wider initiatives fuelled by corporate greed and not local need which are being encouraged by Labour Councils and the Tory government :(

If you need to sell the building, find a similar, perhaps smaller site but do not move it from West Norwood

I have had to fetch post from the West Norwood Sorting Office twice recently, as my letter box is very narrow and even A4 envelopes won't go through if more tha 1 1/2 inches thick. At least once I was in all day, but the door bell did not ring. As I have impaired mobility, it would be a great inconvenience to have to travel by public transport to pick up an item, especially if it turned out to be bulky.
