Enough is enough. By doing this it will lower the rime rate in the area and also take away the hazard of them crossing the highway.

I have just put had to put our house on the market and so sad as I have a lovely home and we will be retiring in a few months time but unable to live like this, We even have to let the agents know what times they must bring people round as it's like a train station with them walking through and attacking us. So sad.

This is just one of many petitions I have signed for this same issue. The excuse of freedom of movement is always used as the excuse as to why this cannot be done however, every individual that crosses the N7 is guilty of a crime before they have even reached the Richwood side. The law clearly states that crossing a national road is a crime, why is this not enforced. Enough is enough, we have become prisoners in our own homes in this suburb, it is now time that something is done about this.

I do feel sorry for the people who are genuinely looking for work but we can not suffer at that expense. We all need to feel safe and actually feel what we are working towards will not be at risk

I agree. We were attacked outside our house 2 days before my Daughters wedding. Effecting our family and her in laws that was part of this attack. Three of them all Armed and I got a Bullet hole in my sliding door were one tried to shoot the future mother in law. Been living here for 27 years now. Shocking what's happening in our Area. We Need This Wall before we get taken out one by one because we did not Stick together.

A good idea. However, have petitions llike this ever achieved anythig concrete? --- However well meant, those SOB's will STILL cross the N7 and I guarantee that millions will be wasted. Give two weeks and the fences ( even if electrified) will be breached or stolen and any wall will have the slabs removed for building more shacks.
Look at the N2 bridges built for their safety. They are too lazy to cross the bridge by mounting 10 steps on either side and STILL dice with death crossing a 6 lane highway. Unfortunately these people have a different mindset.
( like leaving a 4yr old and toddler ALONE in the shack while they go shopping for 2hrs.)
Fully agree that something needs to be done ----but what? Nothing short of moving DuNoon up to Phisantekraal or the Cape Flats and clearing the whole area as a container depot will work.
Maybe digging a 5meter by 3Meter trench and filling with water for that stretch between the Potsdam and Plattekloof bridges may be the only answer.
It will be easier to remove home made bridges and planks on a regular basis and cheaper.
What i have advocated in the past with all the regular rail cable theft--------- we have 10's of thousands of troops doing nothing but lying around in their bunks all day and getting paid for doing NOTHING. Why not deploy them around the country ( say 200meters apart in hot spots) and get them to do guard duty?
8 of them doing 4hr shifts around the clock will stop the rot faster than any fence.

Richwood is easy picking and crime is getting worse also.easy getaway across the field on to N1.also see lately more and more hanging around at the robots by garage.
