Have also been a victim on a few occasions and the N7 has been their escape route into Dunoon

After 10 years being part of this community and asking for this to happen, I have my doubts this petition is going to lead to any progress regarding this matter but I am not giving up on the idea, so here goes...you have my signature! Thanks for putting this together Yolanda. Lets cross fingers and pass on the word.

Most of us have been victims of crime in our neighborhood more than once.

Hi. I fully agree with this issue. Just in the last 2 days we've had crimes committed by Dunoon persons. Build the wall or we take matters in our own hands

I have being living in Richwood for the last 13 years and in the last year the foot traffic through has raised easy by 500%. With that the criminal activities. Nobody feel save anymore walking in the streets of Richwood.

I sign this petition for two reasons; 1. To protect the residents of Richwood from unwanted crime. 2. To protect the residents of Dunoon from being knocked over and killed by traffic on the N7 as they take chances running across the road and are not visible at late afternoon / at night.

We have been living in Richwood for 18 years only to end up not even being able to go for a safe walk. The pedestrian traffic from Da Noon is outragious and job seekers at the robot from people crossing N7 is frightning. Is it not an offence for pedestrians to cross a national rd?!!!! Behind my home the area is being used for a toilet and an open air bedroom!!! this issue has been ignored for a long time now. Please act in securing us!!!! We also have a right to a safe enviroiment.

They broke into my son's car three times in our driveway. Please put a fence up to stop people crossing the N7 into Richwood. I.m to scared to work in my front garden during the day as you get people harassing you all the time.

I have lived here 16 years and would welcome a wall or bouma. The noise from the N7 is a major problem as well as the noise from the trance parties in Killarney. The most important reason for me to have the above is that it will save lives. The amount of people that are killed by crossing the N7 is horrifying. Stats have been done and it has been acknowledged that there is a problem but nothing is been done. I support this as not only a resident but as a human been in support of saving lives. Please can someone listen to our cry for help.

The N 7 is a national highway and should be fenced regardless

I will happily put my signature to this as my son was robbed by knife point of his cell phone and I chased and caught the bugger but our parks are not used because of the security threat to our children. I want a wall not a fence as they will simply cut a hole. I am getting very frustrated and bordering agressive towards the Dunoon residents treating our area as a walk way and the crime they bring with it. There will be violence.

As per the law: The law lays out the rules very simply about whether or not pedestrians are allowed on the freeways of South Africa. In terms of the National Road Traffic Act 93 of 1996, Regulation 323, no person is allowed on the freeway on foot. There are however three exceptions to this rule, but only three. The first exception applies if you are within an area reserved for the stopping or parking of vehicles, indicated by an appropriate road traffic sign. The second is if there is a cause beyond a person’s control - such as if your car breaks down or you are involved in an accident on the highway. The third and final exception is if you are performing service in the Citizen Force as per the Defence Act. This is allowed between the junction of an off-ramp and the junction of an on-ramp on the left-hand side of the roadway, unless a Road Traffic sign forbids the presence of such person on such freeway or junction.
