I was in the Safeway store when a violent and angry man (unkempt and obviously homeless) verbally attacked everyone in sight. He entered the store 3 times and was sent out by the staff. On his third departure he picked up a large planted pot and threw it in the street at the traffic. This happend about mid May. When if ever are we going to enforce basic laws and rules that keep the majority of our citizens safe? The Safeway store at 85th & 5th N.W. Where the homeless are camped and supposedly police presence has been increased! No police visible

We all love our neighborhood and pride ourselves on caring for our neighbors, children, elders, pets, yards and gardens. Our property taxes are high and still we fear about our homes, garages and cars being broken into and home deliveries stolen. Please keep us safe and happy!

You keep raising our taxes and we have higher crime rate and more people sleeping in tents using our open spaces for illegal activity that would have a law abiding person arrested this is not the Seattle I grew up in this!

I live in loyal heights and worry when my home will be hit next. I read about thefts and break ins daily on neighborhood blogs. Shopping at Safeway has become stressful. This is primarily a residential area except for the businesses on 15th. Drug and alcohol tolerance is unacceptable.

This low barrier encampment has been a big disappointment. From the first public meeting it was clear it was being run with little regard for the surrounding community and it's only gone downhill since then. The camp's original on site social worker who has since quit told me at the start there she was aware of concerns about the "hangers on" who congregate outside the camp. Even with that issue anticipated little has been done to mitigate the impact of those street camping around the village.

I have lived in this neighborhood since 1985. It used to be a safe place for my kids to play in Baker Park, which we helped build. It used to be a safe place to walk or ride bikes to school. It isn't safe anymore. Now when my grandchildren come to visit, we stay in the house or play in our fenced yard. This is just no way for anyone to live.

No matter what side of the issue your beliefs are about helping our addicted and our homeless, this is no way to live. Not for the home and business owners who are victims of crimes, and not for our unhoused community. This is an utterly shameful situation that the city and mayors office have flat out perpetuated to the expense of us all. Please spend this money on things that will change this for the better instead of on paychecks for worthless officials and their worthless programs.

We also need the sidewalks and underpasses free of tents, motor homes that are child walk past to school. There is open drug use happening!!!

Having these camps in residential areas is intolerable for local residents.
Mayor Durkan, you are completely negligent in your duties as mayor of Seattle and I can not understand why you are allowing this city to be taken over by drug addicted criminals.
You must be almost the most uncaring, negligent and incompetent Mayor in the USA, perhaps second only to the mayor of San Francisco who has also allowed that city to become a crime ridden hellhole.
Mayor Durkan please do the City of Seattle a massive favor and RESIGN.

The city needs to provide a proactive approach to dealing with this crisis. We can't just turn the other cheek and expect it to resolve itself. We also cannot accept people living in tents on public property, it is not legal.
