I lived there for years my entire childhood I came out at the age of 18 I was so horrified I was afraid of every person of color for years and I suffer with ptsd to this day at the age of 28

Thank you for starting something like this. My daughter got refered to this program its supposedly will help her with her anxiety she has towards school considering she's been abused by teachers in the past. If it weren't for all these people commenting and writing reviews and starting a petition I would of had my 8 year old in harms way. This is very helpful.

I was at GCS from 2009, until 2013. In parallel with Nicholas J Ortiz, I too have dealt with the abuse from Mr. King. On top of that, we went to the local police department two days after the incident, because my mother noticed large bruises covering me from my lower back to my hamstrings, from when he had thrown me down to the floor and restrained me. He had made the claim that I had been kicking him several times, when eight other teachers were able to confirm no such thing. I will happily sign this petition, along with the other victims, to help stop such unspeakable acts.

The stuff that goes on there is horrible. The higher ups do not care about the kids nor their workers

I have seen Ross stuff cigarettes down a students throat and verbally abuse other students during my time at GCS. I was abused myself

I was once a client at Green chimneys around 1996 to 2006 Who lived there for almost 6 to 7 years I was One of those kids been abused by staff members In the dorms and at school am a witness of someone Who knows how feels to be abused as a kid I have seen pairs of mine being abused by staff members That lived in the same dorms in school that I went to the teachers don't abuse the kids is when you act up in the class that teaches send you two something called "transition that's where the people who work in transition they are the ones who beat you because I've been yelled that ruffed up and restraint by them before One of the main guys who works there is name was Mr. King I have complained to the principals many times in that school and they did Nothing Green chimneys is a lovely place for kids with disabilities like me Because I was was that kid who has a disability and lived in Green chimneys and had good times a lot of fun and learned a lot from the people who work there but I also had bad Times I believe people who work I green Chinese need to be trained better with handling kids with disabilities And stop the abusing

I was an employee at Green Chimneys for a year. My heart goes out to every single child in that place. They put all employees through a stupid unsafe program especially the part where you have to learn to restrain a student. I do believe that all administrators are not well educated for this facility and prepared . That goes for all teachers as well. It's all about the money not the students needs as far as I'm concerned. All employees don't get an breaks during the day at all work right through to end. That should be against the law. Thank you

Is anyone paying attention to this petition? I tried to get in touch with the few survivors I could find. Their contact info seemed to have been left in plain sight for just that reason so I called but it did not go well. After I introduced myself weird things happened. The first 2 sort of gasped and immediately slammed their phone down and the third whispered something about it not being safe to talk about GC. It was so unsettling that I decided to leave it alone. I was a 10 year old girl back in the 1966 when my two siblings and I were incarcerated at GC and I'd tried hard for enough years own my own to break thru the impenetrable barriers set up by both the Rosses AND the town of Brewster. Law enforcement in that town was complicit and up to their necks in filthy tuition dollars Rolo doled out for their silence. Paid off to find and return runaways without a word they simply ignored the child in the back seat freaking out and begging to be saved from the pounding of a lifetime , be they boy or girl, waiting up ahead. Omg, I can feel the despair returning 40+ years later. My greatest respect to all GC kids. [email protected]

My 2 siblings and I spent 2 years in GC 1966-67and ,like many, never could recover. Unspeakable

I worked at this place myself and the abuse that these children go through is unimaginable for any empathetic and warm-hearted soul. The dorm staff without hearts are the psychopaths themselves, and they put the blame on children. The roles are switched at Greenchimneys, the dorm leaders, assistants, staff themselves are sicker than these children. Sometimes, I stuffing them with bunch of medication and putting them to sleep forever. They just deserved it in the first place. I could not stand when they'd beat these innocent poor traumatized children. They got more traumatized getting out of Greenchimneys than when they went in, in the first place. I'm for closing it this damn hell hypothetical therapy.

Green chimneys is an I'm acceptable environment for children.

I went to green chimneys from 67 to 71. I can confirm to the physical and sexual that took during my stay at chimneys. I was there at the same time zagarella was. He and I had a upfront and personal relational relationship. We didn't like each other leading into at least weekly fist fights over a 2 year period

Worked for this company off campus for many years but spent the last 4 on campus- the cover ups are discusting
