i was raped by an older black student at that school and they tried to insist to the state that i agreed to it. they even persuaded me to talk them out of reporting them to the state

Hi Judy and Alan, I spent 4 hellish years there myself, and I certainly DO remember that total waste of space Mr Culhane, as well as the horrific abuse doled out by him, Mr. Ross, Mr. Hill, Mr. & Mrs. Doig and others. In all likelihood, our time there did crossover. My name now is Nancy Tipton, and my maiden name had been Taylor. I just received in the mail a request for a donation to green chimneys. I am so glad I checked the web and found out the terrible abuse children have endured at this place .

I am a Green chimney survivor too, and I have the emotional scars to prove it. I’m still In therapy today, and I have been ever since I left green chimneys forty years ago. I have anxiety and some trauma as a result of all of the torture and abuse I endured. I used to lock and barricade myself in my room whenever I was home for a visit. I was never like this before I was at Green Chimneys, and I was afraid to tell my parents. Today I still lock and barricade myself in my home, because I feel more safe and secure that way. I seldom go out at night, even though I live in a safe neighborhood with a police station at the end of the block. I only go out during the day occasionally, if I have to. I’m afraid of other men and authority because of the abuse. This has instilled fear in my life. Trusting someone is another matter, because Green Chimneys betrayed that trust. Despite all of this, I have a few friends with whom I have established a relationship, and I have a good therapist and a support system. The teachers and staff at Green chimneys were strict and physically abusive. I was among the children who were abused there. My third grade teacher, Mr Culhane, was a big Irishman. When I was eleven years old he physically and verbally abused me on more than one occasion. If I made a mistake, or for no reason at all, he would grab me and drag me out of the classroom and into the hallway, where he would continuously kick, punch and slapped me. I got a black eye as a result. One night, two boys and myself were sent to the headmaster’s home, where he, the headmaster Mr Ross, beat us one by one with a stick. I was the last one to get it, until the stick broke. This was all because the two other boys were caught stealing food from the kitchen. I really was not involved, I just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Another time, the assistant headmaster Mr Hill took off his shoe and beat me with it. I can’t remember if there

Judy I am a long term survivor of Green Chimneys I was there for three miserable years and it sounds like you were there during the same time period as I, would you contact me on facebook please? I remember Culhane he had once severely beaten me and it was completely unprovoked .
