I live in the Ivywood neighborhood and I pick up trash every week that has been blown in to my yard, sits on the sidewalk or has been tossed in to the street. I see people just drop it or toss it right in to the street. It would be great to have the city help clean up, but that would never solve the problem. People just don't care to put their trash away the proper way. Too easy to get away with just dumping it.

I have not only adopted the corner at 106th and Foothill but putting 3 flower pots there, but I have joined neighbors by getting out and picking up litter in our neighborhood. Please give East Oakland a chance to shine like other neighborhoods in the city.

Why aren't workers and their Department
Heads help accountable for this and other services that we pay our taxes for. Property taxes have increased, but our services are still not being completed. But in the more affluent neighborhoods, the services never decrease.

City leaders should be aware of issues in all parts of the city, regardless of the perceived income level of the region's residents. There are families living in East Oakland, and the children living there have a right to know that they (and their neighborhood) matter as much as residents in any other part of the city. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

Dumping fees at Davis transfer station are outrageous. This encourages dumping. The city really needs to step up and subsidize these fees or else risk this continued dumping. We must start from the beginning and work our way forward.

i live and work in east Oakland, the dumping gets worse every day. I call the city and it can take up to 2-3 weeks for a response. I think mor lighting in some areas might help, more cameras so the city can get license plate numbers. I have a man living in his car on my street, he's not bothering anyone (yet), but when he does leave he throws all his trash in the street and on the sidewalk. I could go on but I'm sure you get the picture. I agree 100% something needs to be done

Residents of Oakland want to feel a sense of pride, and safe in their own neighborhoods. When blighted areas are neglected with a lack of Public Works services it sends a clear message that the City doesn't prioritize these areas.
We can't even get stationary trash receptacles to encourage people to PUT LITTER IN IT'S PLACE!!
